Adam Hess is a stand-up and comedy writer known for penning content for Newsjack, 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Russell Howard's Good News, and The Tez O'Clock Show. A regular at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, in 2015 he was a nominee for the Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer. He is most famous for his surreal, absurdist one-liners.
In 2011 he made the Semi Final of the BBC New Comedy Award, broadcast on BBC Radio 4 Extra, and this led to performances on two episodes of Channel 4's topical stand-up comedy show Stand Up For The Week.
Nominated for Chortle Best Circuit Comedian and Chortle Best Newcomer, he spent a long part of his comedy career as a staff-writer on Russell Howard's Good News. He has also written for Newsjack, 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, and The Tez O'Clock Show.
In 2015 he was a nominee for the Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer at his show Adam Hess: Salmon, and in 2016 he appeared in three episodes of The Funny Thing About..., a Channel 5 comedy show featuring talking heads, discussing a number of topics such as relationships, dating, and the festive season.
A prolific stand-up across a lengthy career to date, he has featured on such shows as Tonight At The London Palladium, Live From The BBC, Comedy Central At The Comedy Store, The Chris Ramsey Show, and Stand Up Sketch Show. Alongside this work, he has also written for, and appeared as an ensemble actor on, the 2016 ITV2 sketch show @Elevenish, and also featured in series 2 of BBC Two sitcom Count Arthur Strong.
Hess is also co-creator of the cult hit The Bearpit Podcast Podcast, which in 2016 took a show to the Edinburgh Fringe: Bearpit Podcast (Podcast): 100 Year Anniversary.
