Sophie Pelham: being on Miranda was such fun

Comic actor, Sophie Pelham, returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with a multi character solo show from the English countryside. As Sophie explains to Martin Walker, the characters are all based on real people whom she met in a Somerset pub. A far cry from her stint as somebody posh in Miranda.

Paul Sinha - stand up sending Z-list postcards

Comedy editor, Martin Walker has been a big fan of Paul Sinha's stand-up since Paul's Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut in 2004. Eleven years on, Paul is best known to the public at large as a 'Chaser' in something called, The Chase on television. Sadly, Martin doesn't really know what that is, but is delighted that Paul is back at the Fringe doing comedy with Postcards from the Z List.

Simon Munnery uncut

Comedy nonconformist Simon Munnery has successfully devised a brand new way of delivering gags. Featuring special guests from across the stand-up comedy world, Fylm School will feature live comedy via a camera, projector and screen nightly at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe at the Hive. Charlie Chaplin nominated for face of new £20 note

Since Bank of England governor Mark Carney announced the first-ever open call for banknote-design nominations in its 320-year history last May, the bank has received thousands of ideas for Adam Smith's successor as the new face of the £20 note. Among the nominees are actor Charlie Chaplin, film director Alfred Hitchcock, landscape painter JMW Turner, children's book author Beatrix Potter, and fashion designers Laura Ashley and Alexander McQueen.
