Joel Dommett Live review

The problem is that he's stretched a tight, hour-long set into a too-thin two hours, presumably to meet the interval-based demands of his venues.

Mitchell & Webb's guide to making Freshers Week friends

David Mitchell and Robert Webb, by their own admission, were two of the dorkiest people ever to darken their grubby, beer-stained digs, and things turned out pretty well for them didn't they? Here's the comedy duo's foolproof guide to making friends during Freshers Week. May it serve you well.

TV review: The Pact, BBC2

This final BBC Two pilot has success written over it. The stars are Him & Her's Sarah Solemani and sexy, brooding Brett Goldstein as two schoolfriends who make a deal aged 15 that if they are single at 35 they will get together. After the teenage opening we flash forward to the present day. Surely getting a decent romcom out of this basic plot should be a doddle. Apparently not.

Is there too much political correctness in comedy?

Why is this being discussed AGAIN??? Haven't we gone round the houses with this a million times? Haven't we established that there are only two possible responses? To the question 'is there too much political correctness in comedy' isn't the answer either: YES, you're not allowed to be rude about people any more, it's not racist it's just banter, it's only jokes... or NO, it's good that in the modern world where all nationalities sit side by side, where women are supposed to be treated as equals and people with disabilities need respect not mockery, refusing to be cruel for the sake of it when writing comedy is a good place to start?
