This popular late 1990s sitcom makes its DVD debut today, with all three series collected over 6 discs.
Comedy legend Dame Penelope Keith stars with William Gaunt as self-absorbed grandparents whose lives are turned upside down when their estranged son and his wife ('Bootface') die in a tragic accident, leaving them natural guardians to their three now-orphaned grandchildren.
From writers Jan Etherington and Gavin Petrie (Second Thoughts, Faith In The Future) and directed and produced by sitcom supremo Gareth Gwenlan (Only Fools And Horses, To The Manor Born, The Fall And Rise Of Reginald Perrin), 22 episodes were broadcast on BBC One from 1995 to 1997, and all are collected together in the new box set. Written and produced by the same duo as the new show and also starring Ben Miller, it sees poor Howard get into all kinds of embarrassing situations in front of his future parents-in-law (played brilliantly by Geoffrey Whitehead and Alison Steadman).
