Star of Beyond the Fringe, Jonathan Miller talks about the Nottingham Alabasters and their history in British architecture. Miller claims the best are those showing the Resurrection, which is odd coming from athiest.

Science writer Philip Ball brings up the issue of phlogiston, which was thought in the 17th-18th century to be an element which caused fire. Ball uses this as an example of how odd ideas are replaced with the new.

Mathematician Marcus du Sautoy talks about 'The Monster', something that can only exist in a universe containing 26 dimensions. This leads to a visit 24 dimensional grocer.
