Neil Shefferd, Thame Today, 21st October 2016QI is in the safest of hands
The trouble is, if pushed, I would say - and this is not sacrilege, bear with me - that in recent series, even under Fry's tutelage, QI has gone very slightly off the boil, as long-running panel games will. A slight shake-up to the format might be just what it needs.

Sam Simmons has won awards for his stand-up comedy, including the Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2015 and the Barry Award 2015 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, he's also appeared on TV in Room 101 and 8 Out Of 10 Cats. On the basis of his show at The Lowry, it is difficult to understand why.

Ed Power, The Telegraph, 21st October 2016Documentary-makers weren't straight with me
A few weeks ago I was rather surprised to discover I was listed as a contributor, having no recollection of ever being interviewed for any doc entitled Outcast Comic nor having ever been asked if I wanted to be involved in a documentary based on one man's Facebook update a few years ago. In fact I probably would've declined given the oh-so trite subject matter.
Brendon Burns, Chortle, 21st October 2016Gary Tank Commander Live review
It's a plot that's stretched a bit thin over two-and-a-half hours (including interval), McHugh not being the first sitcom writer to find difficulties in extending a half-hour format to a feature length. The second half, especially, spends a lot of time on plotting and exposition of a fairly simple story at the expense of laughs. Our possible ISIS man even gets to sing a ballad I Am Your Brother, Set Me Free without irony or piss-take.
