Preview - Famalam

The latest comedy pilot from BBC Two is a sketch show, which these days is somewhat rare. A sketch show with an all-black cast is even rarer.

Preview - Porters

This dark, hospital based sitcom from Dave has already attracted some big names too it. It's not that many brand new British sitcoms that can claim to feature Frasier's Kelsey Grammer in a cameo appearance.

Alex Horne - The Horne Section interview

Fun is guaranteed [with The Horne Section] - the decidedly non-musical Horne plays hectoring frontman to a group of musical pals as they inject a shot in the arm to the musical comedy genre. Some songs are one-liners in themselves, some soundtrack jokes, some just delightfully absurd. It all sits just the right side of shambolic.

TV preview: New On Two - Famalam, BBC2

After a lot of fairly trad sitcoms the latest pilot in the BBC's current raft of newbies is a sketch show. And although it is new Famalam feels like it has been around for a while. In both a good and bad way.

Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke, 20th September 2017

Porters: preview

Dave has only dipped its toe in the water with a commission of three episodes, but the results from this test are back - and the prognosis for Porters is definitely good.

Steve Bennett, Chortle, 20th September 2017

Bad Move: preview

Bad Move is definitely not The Good Life, since Steve and Nicky can't do anything for themselves (and don't want to grow any veg). But it feels even safer than the 1970s sitcom: a couple of enjoyably wry lines and photogenic scenery barely enough to warrant a return visit.

Charlotte And Lillian

Series 1, Episode 1 - The Introduction

As the series opens, Charlotte arrives - late - at Lillian's flat, fresh from another argument with her soon-to-be-ex. She's expecting a grateful, attentive old lady, so is pretty put out when Lillian seems more concerned with that afternoon's edition of Flog It!. Lillian, on the other hand, is irritated by the constant chirrups from Charlotte's phone and how Charlotte can't stop looking at it. Neither of them is expecting things to develop so speedily.
