My Family
It was on this day in 2000 that the BBC launched what would become the decade's biggest sitcom hit: My Family, the tale of bad-tempered dentist Ben Harper (Robert Lindsay), his wife (Zoe Wanamaker), and their three children: Kris Marshall, Daniela Denby-Ashe and Gabriel Thomson. Running for more than 120 episodes over 11 series, it was a huge mainstream hit providing plenty of laughs, week-in, week-out, for millions across Britain.
