Larrington Walker has died while filming a new role. The actor - most famous for his roles on the stage at the Royal Shakespeare Company - has passed away aged 70 while filming in Guadeloupe in the Caribbean after a long and glittering career, his son has confirmed.

Dick Clement at 80

Dick Clement, OBE, co-writer of Porridge and The Likely Lads, is 80 today. Clement wrote the original sketch on which The Likely Lads was based - Double Date - for a BBC director's course exercise in the early 60s, with his long-term collaborator Ian La Frenais.
