Tracey visits the prison to be greeted by the prison welfare officer, who is surprised to see her. Darryl is in hospital with a burst appendix. Nobody had written or called her to tell her.

The greedy prison officer at the hospital eats most of Darryl's food to test it for drugs, the nurse, Joy, who is friendly with Darryl puts sleeping drugs in it so that Darryl and Tracey can escape for the night.

A man offers to paint a picture of Dalentrace for Sharon, she invites him inside and duly flirts with him, telling him that her husband is dead.

Tracey fakes a phone call about Garth being ill so Sharon won't suspect while she is with Darryl.

Joy brings a birthday cake laced with drugs, the prison officer eats it and falls fast asleep, leaving him free to escape with Tracey.

Sharon spends the evening with Martin the painter.

Darryl is disappointed when he doesn't perform to expectations, but Tracey is just happy to be spending time with her husband. Darryl sets his mind on escaping for good, but Tracey convinces him otherwise.

On the way back to the hospital the taxi is pulled over for speeding, the driver has been drinking behind the wheel. Luckily the don't recognise Darryl. Without a lift they call Sharon, who in turn gets Dorien to pick them up.

They find them behind a bush.

Darryl's stitches burst, the same police as before arrive and give him a lift to hospital. As they arrive back the officer wakes back up to find him gone from bed. As he is wheeled back they accuse him of falling asleep on the job when Darryl needed help.
