Our Friend Victoria review

Julie Walters presents the first of a six-part celebration of a comedian without equal.

Jasper Rees, The Arts Desk, 12th April 2017

Review: Our Friend Victoria

I laughed a lot through this first episode. Of course I did, it's Victoria ruddy Wood. Her delivery, her word choice, the rhythm of a line. Even if it's not her saying it, you know it's Victoria Wood. Her voice was so strong, in everything she wrote.

Alison Carr, Standard Issue, 12th April 2017

Our Friend Victoria review

Admittedly, this was a glorified clip show - but what clips they were.

Michael Hogan, The Telegraph, 12th April 2017

Our Friend Victoria review

You won't learn much in this tribute to Victoria Wood, but you'll chuckle and feel warm in that uniquely BBC way.

What Car Share needs is a pair of jump leads

The slowest-moving love affair on telly is back. A traffic jam on the M62 shifts like Concorde compared to the romance between John and Kayleigh in Peter Kay's Car Share.

Peter Kay's Car Share review

A winning return for this ingenious comic gem.

Michael Hogan, The Telegraph, 12th April 2017

Car Share is back but not worth the wait

Considering that we waited a whole two years for this new series, the next few episodes have a lot of making up to do to be honest.

Elizabeth Adetula, Metro, 12th April 2017

Car Share: A tedious shadow of a once-promising series

By the end of the episode, both characters are firmly buckled in, back where they belong. Let's just hope that as the series progresses, so too does the plot line. At the moment, it's pure and simple: Car Share is a boring shadow of a well-executed first series.

Russell Howard, touring, review

An amiable mix of sex and politics.

Veronica Lee, The Arts Desk, 12th April 2017

Peter Kay's on the road to nowhere

I was one of the few people who hadn't seen it the first time around so when the second series of Car Share aired last night, expectations were high. They were not met.

Interview: rarely asked questions - Greg Proops

Greg Proops is a bit of a legend. The smart-suited American is a terrific stand-up comedian but may be better known as a master of improvisation. He first made his name in the UK as a regular performer on C4's Whose Line Is It Anyway? You name it, he can make it funny.

Dog Ends review

Dog Ends promised a tasty little morsel, but it could have been far more fulfilling and packed a far stronger bite with sharper editing, more realistic character reactions to events and a deeper exploration of the issues surrounding caring for the elderly, be they relatives or dogs!

Marcel Lucont review

Some of the gimmicks (and technical problems) affect his high-status character, and the best parts are still Lucont's straight up, droll stand up - making you wonder if the gimmicks were necessary at all.
