The Magnet: Watch clip of the rarely-seen Ealing comedy

An 11-year-old James Fox - later, of course, to make his name in the likes of The Servant and Performance - was given his first starring role in this Ealing comedy set largely in Liverpool and the Wirral. Fox (still acting under his actual first name, William) plays a schoolboy who tricks another kid out of a fancy-looking magnet, and then becomes an inadvertent hero after it ends up in an iron lung. The restored version of The Magnet is out now on DVD.

A 2015 EdFringe interview with John Hastings

John Hastings knows how to make the most of the Edinburgh Festival; this year he prepares to do another hour long show, a podcast, and a presenter's job at Late 'n' Live. John Hastings is absolutely fantastic, as you'll know from his performance at Punchline's second Comedy Gala in Edinburgh, and we strongly recommend catching him at this year's Festival. As John mulls over a forgotten train ticket, I caught up with him to discuss this year's Fringe.

Edinburgh preview: Liam Williams

Review: Whose Line Is It Anyway?

Sure, at times, the humour felt a little dated. But, going back to that Rolling Stones and Fleetwood Mac analogy, you're only really there to see the greatest hits.
