The Mirror, 14th September 2017The Other One review
It's good to see a comedy pilot that is more about character and narrative momentum than it is about gags. And one that doesn't come with laughter included; you get to decide yourself whether to or not, almost like you're an adult. I am not convinced the premise screams six-episode series, but I'd be delighted to be proved wrong.

Sophie Davies, Cult Box, 14th September 2017How to perform comedy to an audience with dementia
So I chatted to comedy performers Pope Lonergan and Ben Targét... "The two of you have this joint project," I said. "Does it have a name?"
"At the moment," Pope told me, "it just has the banner title of The Care Home Tour. One thing we are doing is a three-hour Alzheimer's benefit Forgetting But Not Forgotten, organised with Angel Comedy at the Bill Murray in London on 2nd October. Lots of different comedians."

The interviews often hit a lull before coming back to life again; emergency questions (absurd and/or lewd questions rolled out to avoid uncomfortable silences) are repeated across episodes, then forgotten about, before being welcomed back like old friends.

Steve Bennett, Chortle, 14th September 2017The Death Of Stalin review
Shot before Trump became US president, The Death Of Stalin is one of many films to arrive in a global landscape different from what their creators might have expected.
Caryn James, BBC, 14th September 2017Death Of Stalin review
The Death Of Stalin is Iannucci's most complex and almost nihilistic rendering of what politics is: A team of bumbling and weak-minded people who lack any real conviction other than a desire for power and position. They aren't quite in hell; they're definitely not in heaven. It's death by middle position, the bleakest version of purgatory on earth with no redemption allowed, and the biggest joke of it all is that they've put themselves there on purpose.
