Further details
With a loft conversion about to begin, Victor has been clearing out and come across another relic from one of his old hobbies: a female marionette puppet in full Dutch traditional costume. He quickly sets about restoring and practicing with the old toy, much to Margaret's annoyance.
Pippa, meanwhile, has organised a meal at a local Lebanese restaurant for Patrick and Victor to reconcile and clear the air. She and Margaret both hold out big hopes for the evening and the change of peace, but neither husband is particularly keen.
Back at 19 Riverbank, the builders Victor has hired to work on the conversion arrive. They are identical twin brothers, small in stature but big in personality - and one in particular has a very dark sense of humour and loves nothing more than playing macabre practical jokes. Preoccupied with the puppet, Victor barely notices his behaviour but Margaret quickly becomes prime target.
To add insult to injury, Margaret finds out she is being made redundant. Is her fate now to turn into a literal female Victor Meldrew?
