One Foot In The Grave. Image shows left to right: Millicent (Barbara Windsor), Victor Meldrew (Richard Wilson)
New locks on the front and back doors threaten Victor's chances of seeing the European Cup quarter-final when they keep jamming, and a widow from the local greengrocer's has designs on Victor that are more animal than vegetable.

Further details

Having recently had their locks replaced, the Meldrews find their front door is continually jamming, leaving them unable to get into the house and even forcing Victor to resort to climbing a ladder in an attempt to enter through their bedroom window. If that weren't bad enough, the very next morning Victor finds the fridge stolen from their kitchen, almost literally from under his nose, whilst leaving the room for moments to get a mug!

Meanwhile, local greengrocer Millicent he is sure has been making suggestive advances to him, which is most unsettling - but he and a few friends have secured tickets to a football match at Wembley, so at least has that to look forward to.

Things are looking worse for Jean. After a few weeks visiting her sister in Blackpool, her car's come off the road en route home and she's laid up in hospital; but also has something to look forward to in the form of a full, life-size waxwork of herself that she won in a raffle at Louis Tussaud's!

Before heading to the football match, Victor pops out on a few errands: notably including visiting locksmith company owner Mr Laverick, and leaving him in no uncertain doubt as to his feelings about the company's service. Heading for the train to meet with his friends, Victor then bumps into Millicent who offers him a lift in her packed delivery van, but it quickly seems she has ulterior motives in mind.
