Further details

After a particularly heavy night partying, Alison and Mike wake to find their house in disarray. With the clock ticking until a potentially crucial business partner comes to view the venue, and with very sore heads, the couple attempt a mass clean-up of the debris from the night before.

The ghosts are all acting very strangely, and so Alison tries to piece together what actually happened at the party. Pat and the Captain nurse a grudge, Kitty surprisingly wants nothing to do with Alison, Thomas feels quite the opposite, and Mary and Robin can't seem to look each other in the eye. Alison's tidying is derailed when she's also tasked with finding something precious to Lady Button that went missing during last night's frivolities. There's only so much time before Lady Button realises it's AWOL and wreaks havoc.

Meanwhile, Mike, voiceless after last night, gets trapped on the roof and is supported by Humphrey's head as he plans his escape. Downstairs in the basement, the Plague victims find out the shocking truth about the cause of their death, and as betrayal and anger ripples through the group and they threaten to move upstairs, it's up to Julian to intervene and restore harmony between them.

Review: Fanny girl raises the spectre of silly laughs

Irn-Bru's marketing team got into a lot of trouble by making jokes about someone with the name Fanny many years ago.

Stevie Gallacher, The Sunday Post, 29th September 2020

Ghosts is back, and in even better form. This confection by the Horrible Histories team, but aimed firmly at an adult audience, with its tongue firmly in its cheek, is a dizzying - I dislike the word romp, but sadly there's no other - through the tale of one couple, one haunted castle, and their attempts to zhuzh it up as a prestige wedding venue despite the pesky presence of headless poets etc. Yup, I just used the words zhuzh, romp, prestige and pesky, and it says much about the quality that this caused me no pain. Sharp and smart, fast and fun, and horribly watchable.
