Whoops Baghdad
Starring Frankie Howerd, this was the second series in the Up Pompeii! family of comedies, spinning off from the huge success of the original, both on the small and the silver screen. Marking its 43rd birthday today, Whoops Baghdad saw Howerd star as Ali Oopla, servant to the Wazir in ancient Baghdad. It might not have quite captured the magic of the original, but great writers and cast make this a very good candidate for release on DVD. Guide |
