Series 1, Episode 4 - Going To Work

Fletcher's parole officer finds him a job at a hotel, but first night nerves lead to harsh words at home and the result is Fletch in the pub in his carpet slippers. It's down to Godber to make sure Fletch doesn't blow his new job before it's even begun.

Further details

It's time to visit the parole officer again, and work is very much top of her agenda. Fletcher isn't keen on the idea but she is insistent and he's soon being interviewed for a Night Security Officer (Porter) position at a small Kensington hotel.

He gets the job and reveals to Lennie and Ingrid that this is his first legitimate job ever. Tensions soon run high as Fletcher has second thoughts, Ingrid and Godber have a row, and both men end up in the pub.

Time is ticking on as Ingrid arrives at his new place of work to find no sign of Fletch. Can Godber get Fletcher to change his mind and take his next big step on the road to the straight and narrow?
