After Black Books is burgled, Manny arranges the installation of a sophisticated security system. Distracted by a Subbuteo figure, he fails to memorise the code, condemning Bernard to a fun-packed night on the streets.
On the other side of the door, Manny must get by on the provisions inside and his well-honed survival tactics. Fran is no help to either as she becomes absorbed - and aroused - by old college pal Howell's voice. Shame she doesn't like the rest of him.
