Newsjack - Series 4 Page 16

Well Done Dan.

The riots actually started after President Mubarak got 7 sketches and 6 one liners onto Egyptian state TV's News Jihad.

Miles:

With me is Professor Sebastian Double-Barrelled, leading expert on Islamic studies. Professor Double-Barrelled, what insight can you give on the current crisis in the Islamic world?

Sebastian Double-Barrelled:

I think it is crucially important not to stereotype Muslims as intolerant extremists.

Miles:

Well, no, else they'd put a fatwa on us.

Sebastian Double-Barrelled:

Exactly.

One of the nice side effects of NewsJack coming back is that it gets the Critique section going again for a few weeks.

I didn't send anything this week but I was still disappointed not to get the e mail.
Which shows what a serious writer I am these days

F**k Newsjack and everyone involved in it. (Apart from Dan and the Wolfman) :)

I've kicked it off already...

Good Big News Jack

Congrats guys; always good to see someone aced it!

(I've now been emailed two webchat invites. Dunno if I should be honoured they really want me there, or offended they seem so keen I need to listen...)

Good work, fellas!

This is where I get to gloat.

Those that got the robot's email acknowledging their submissions but didn't have anything on the show have to deal with the fact that their stuff just wasn't good enough to hack it. :D :D

I on the other hand can plead that there is a .00000000000000000001% chance that my material never found its way to their inbox, and of course had it done so then I'm sure something of what I sent may well have been used.

It's a good feeling I can tell you. I'm not a loser. ;) ;)

Update:

Damn! I have now received the webchat email on my email address that's never had a reply from NJ before. What does this mean?

I know. I can only mean that Newsjack robot's a bit of a loose cannon and it doesn't know whether it's on its arse or its elbow.

first ep. Just about to start.

Just learnt what they used of my material. The BBC Egypt sketch and a correction (don't know which one).

Edit: It was the library correction.

They managed a fair few "Miles interviews a female specialist" sketches on tonight's show despite all the new features they were looking for!!!

(Shakes fist towards where he imagines the BBC might be)

Any of the new features conspicuous by their presence?

(I'm going to listen on the iPlayer tomorrow probably).

I did catch the corrections. Nice one, Ian. Was "futtock" anyone on here?

Your sketches are so toxic they get mistaken for spam
