So Awkward. Mrs Fitzgerald (Carla Mendonca). Copyright: Channel X North

The girls, led by Martha, have been campaigning hard for a new school library. When Mrs Griggs announces that the library campaign has been successful, joy for Jas immediately turns to horror, when she learns her favourite tree will need to be cut down to make way for the library. She and Martha are now at loggerheads.

Lily tries to employ conflict resolution to bring the two together, but fails. As a last resort she turns to their parents, to see if their intervention can make a difference. It only makes matters worse, when the parents themselves fall out and behave in an even more childish way than the girls.

The parents are finally brought to their senses when they see themselves on film screaming and shouting at each other. They are embarrassed and mortified!

Meanwhile Lily has been trying to work on a video diary about friendship for a competition she's entered. A task made seemingly impossible when the friends are in such conflict, but the fact that Matt's helping and she gets to hang out with him is a big bonus.

At the 11th hour, Mrs Griggs announces that the decision has been reversed, in favour of a new gym, meaning that neither Martha, nor Jas get what they want. It turns out Matt Furnish is behind the decision to reverse the decision. Helped inadvertently by Lily, he has made a sports film which has impressed the school governors.
