Full synopsis

So Awkward. Mrs Jones (Joanna Neary). Copyright: Channel X North.

In the heat of the moment, to avoid being told off by scary librarian Mrs Jones when she loses her library books, Lily invents a fictional classmate to take the blame.

When Jas gets carried away with the invention of this 'Clementine Moustache' persona, the girls find themselves having to keep the lie going and it escalates way out of control!

Even though she doesn't actually exist, Clementine Moustache quickly becomes the most popular girl in the school. She sets a hair trend that sweeps through the school, Matt Furnish falls head over heels for her, and Ollie ends up having to impersonate Clementine and do a dance, dressed in a 'Lion Queen' costume!

Meanwhile, there is rivalry between Martha and Lily over an 'Excellence in the Written Word' assignment, with both girls anxious to get their hands on the winner's trophy.

Martha loses her essay when her computer crashes and she has to madly re-write it by hand. When Lily isn't allowed to enter as herself because she lost her entry barcode along with her library books earlier, she enters as Clementine.

Clementine/Lily wins, but at the Awards Ceremony Lily realises what she has done is wrong and comes clean publicly, handing over her winner's trophy to Martha. The friends are reunited and Clementine Moustache is gone forever!
