Well it would appear I'm in this week, so at least that shows steady progress from last week's recorded but cut. Or that everyone else was too busy focusing on TSWYW so they had to use my stuff!

I know Steve Sunshine is also on the list but he's too busy writing topical comedy for other Radio 4 shows to post here!

Fantastic news! Congratulations! And many congrats to Steve S too for this and News Quiz!!

:D

I'm never too busy to show off on the BCG ;) With repeats I should get my name read out on the radio 4 days in a row
So a happy end to a very busy writing week

Well done Steve M & anyone else who got good e mails this week

Well done the Steves, and everyone else who made it on this week.

I haven't listened yet on account of being at a Half Man Half Biscuit gig last night. Which, in a way, is a bit like Newsjack circa 1985 with guitars.

Nobody writes lyrics like 'She works at Marks & Spencer's/La la la Lech Walesas' any more.

Got one in and I'm dyslexic. I am now formally retiring from writing. I'm worn out.

Half Man Half Biscuit! That's a blast from the past.

If anyone is still on here I got the sketch-oneliner dream double last night. Mine was the Harvard University/Oxford University oneliner and porn and GBBO giving men unrealistic expectations about baking sketch.

Although I should confess my sketch was about porn giving men unrealistic views about sex and Strictly giving women unrealistic views about dancing so all those laughs you heard weren't really mine.

And well done Nick - what did you get on?

Nice to have a 'double', Stephen, good stuff!
They don't like sketches relating to Strictly, oh no. I imagine the production crew will change next time though, won't it, and they'll have their own preferences.

Interesting to hear how many sketches came from those in the writer's room; out of the eight of us, I think four writers succeeded, two of whom were the Beeb's 'own' bursary people.

The "shake it all about" referendum joke. They did end the e-mail with "comedy gold - you're the best" so I'm expecting my own series.

Well done Stephen you got a good haul. And well done the Steves and everyone else that got one or more in.

It's all about the idea, though, innit? I thought it was great, and got the biggest laughs of the night.

So, Newsjack won the Rose D'Or Best Radio Comedy 2015. Congratulations to everyone who got something on this year (either series I presume) as you're all award-winning writers now! Well done!

Dan

Or indeed those who got anything on ever, surely an award for the whole run not just this year?
But either way I love this little show and I'm very pleased its been recognised with an award.

Alas not nominated! Still the 2015 Christmas and New Year Live Show specials will be broadcast soon so perhaps we'll have a chance in 2016.

(Thanks for the chance at a plug!)
