Nixon declares Ivy League universities "finished", vowing never to let one of their presidents in the White House again or ever to employ another Harvard man in his office.

During the episode, he and HR 'Bob' Haldeman meet with new vice chief of staff of the army Alexander Haig. During the meeting, Nixon expresses his contempt for the American upper-class, deeming them worse than their British counterparts, "decadent, incestuous and homosexual".

He also meets with Frank Shakespeare and James Keogh, the outgoing and incoming heads of the US overseas radio service Voice of America. With them, he talks about the elitist attitude of Life Magazine, condemns the "horrible modern art" on display at The John F Kennedy Centre and expresses his disgust at a musical he recently saw at the theatre.
