The Dawson's arrive for a new holiday that doesn't get off to a great start and when Sheron's Mum Loretta (Kate Fitzgerald) joins them - Benidorm will never be the same again!

Series 9 is a suitcase packed full of all your favourite characters, great guest stars, holiday mishaps... and Mr Wu!

In the opening episode, The Dawsons' holiday starts with a bang when Eddie has an accident. Eddie makes a shattering entrance, leaving Joyce and the resort staff to mop up the consequences. As a result, Eddie is caught short in the clothing department and Sheron's fashion taste is called into question when he asks her to pick him up some new kit.

Kenneth is having some financial problems but local dentist Stanley might be the solution. Liam and Kenneth pay him a visit and end up walking away with smiles on their faces.

New holiday rep Sam from head office ruffles Joyce's feathers. Tiger and Joey are in a party mood, so Sam takes them under her wing. When Rob joins them clubbing, there is a surprise in store.

Press

The slightly sunburnt but enjoyably bawdy sitcom returns for a ninth series of outre poolside hijinks. Former hard-partying holidaymaker Sam (Shelley Longworth) rocks back up at the Solana, this time as an ambitious rep, causing friction with highly strung hotel manager Joyce (Sherrie Hewson). Meanwhile, Nigel Havers guest-stars as a dentist who, after a trim at the Blow'n'Go salon, fixates on the late Herbert's dazzling false gnashers.

Benidorm: review

When a series keeps coming back year after year, it must be doing something right. Benidorm (ITV) has booked in for a ninth series of cheerful antics on the Costa del Crud. The principal ingredients are sun, sea and a seemingly limitless supply of lame gags about bodily functions.
