Patrick is still hassling Billy to finish the kitchen. Moira discovers that she's pregnant and Joe is so excited that he can't help himself but tell everyone. Helen wangles herself a day off so she spends some quality time with Patrick. An afternoon on the London Eye brings them to reminisce over bringing Charlie up and all the day trips they used to make. Patrick thinks back to when she first went to school and claims that Charlie was so beautiful that all the snotty faced boys followed her round. Patrick finally admits to Helen (and himself) that he doesn't want to go back into teaching. He considers his alternative career options (becoming a heroine addict or having a 'gap year'!)
Joe meets someone from his past, who thinks that he is still a priest. Billy and Moira look after the pub so Joe and Maria can go to the doctors and they start to wonder how life would have turned out if they had stayed married and had children.
