Tim Vine Travels In Time preview

The most obvious bit of time travelling that Tim Vine has achieved with this pilot is to propel it about six hours ahead of where it should be in the schedules. For there's no denying that with its cheap sets and cheesy jokes this has the feel of a kids' show, out of place in a 10.35pm slot.

TV preview: Tim Vine Travels Through Time, BBC1

You can always bank on Tim Vine when you want something light and fluffy and fun and he has certainly done that with Tim Vine Travels Through Time, the first sitcom in a new series of Comedy Playhouse pilots.

BBC Three to publish another series of Big Field

BBC Three has ordered another series of Big Field, the surreal online comedy series which mixes audio soundbites with new live action sequences, all set in a field.

British Comedy Guide, 21st February 2017

The channel's series re-exploring the merits of silent comedy continues with this piece starring Seann Walsh, Marek Larwood and Jocelyn Jee Esien - one of whom accidentally kills the guide dog of a blind man, played with customary gravity by Vic Reeves. Any comedy involving Reeves invariably involves the surreal use of food, and so it is that the death of the hound is caused by a prawn sandwich. The hapless trio must now convince Reeves that his dog is still alive. Non-verbal hilarity ensues.

The first in Sky Arts' Physical Comedy season, in which a host of stars both established and up-and-coming feature in a series of silent comedy shows. Among those set to appear are Johnny Vegas, Frank Skinner, Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, as well as Jocelyn Jee Esien and Marek Larwood. Tonight's opener stars Kim Cattrall as Ruby, who lives in a huge ramshackle house along with a troupe of acrobats who perform dazzling physical feats. It was written by Mike Wozniak, who also co-stars.

Steve Hall: Edinburgh Fringe 2015 interview

Steve Hall was one third of excellent sketch group We Are Klang, alongside Greg Davies and Marek Larwood. He's also a brilliant stand-up in his own right and will be at the Edinburgh Festival this year with what will most likely be another excellent Fringe show.
