I hate Harry Potter.

THEY ARE ALL EXCELLENT.

They're not really I mean where do you start; HP's God awful grumpy teen dialogue, his equally boring love life, the fact that the Death Eaters turn into a sort of Al Quaeda and start killing everyone including owls and everyone starts flapping and running around.

In the end I was kinda hoping Snape the only consistently interesting character, would have a civil commitment ceremony with Voldemort.

You are clearly just too old and too cynical to understand how awesome the Harry Potter world is. *stomps off in a huff*

She ain't no Philip Pullman

Most people like both of them, but I found his books really boring. I tried the one with the polar bear on the front, but I lost interest very fast.

Trying to find a song which I need some help with

The first four were entertaining, the last three could have been cut in half and lost nothing.

I'm yet to read the The Casual Vacancy though.

Exactly, I mean she's a very entertaining writer but she wrote out of her comfort zone on these.

So Harry as a grumpy teen just didn't work. It would be like Gandalf not going on the quest because he had a dodgy prostate.

And she wrote so many logical inconsistencies it just ground the energy down.

It doesn't stop the first 4 being absolute marvels.

I doubt I'll ever try the Casual Vacancy.

Think I'll wait for the sequel 'The Zero Hours Contract.'

Benny has some aching shoulders.

How to feel your age . . . .

Yesterday I had occasion to visit Merry Hill (read Arndale, Bluewater etc)

Anyway, to the point. I wanted a new winter coat and I thought that Burtons might have one. Couldn't find Burtons and pissed off with looking, I asked a cleaning lady if there was an information point that could direct me.

'Yes' she replied, 'it's on the ground floor.

Are you alright with escalators?'

Ah, Merry Hill! I frequently speak to the Frankie and Benny's there.
