Black Books Page 2

I just saw an episode of this for the first time as well, got to say it's brilliant. I think it's the first episode, I cannot stop laughing at the part when Manny stops by the pregnant woman and says:

'If you're feeling under pressure do something different, roll your sleeves or eat an orange.' LOL.

Laughing out loud

Are they available on DVD anyone?

Yes, yes they are. :)

I've actually just been watching some of this tonight (well, this morning), having bought the box set recently (above). Thought that I'd only seen a handful of episodes before, but I think I've known them all so far.

Good show. Very funny in places. There's just something about the setting, the bookshop itself, the set, that doesn't quite work for me though, that I can't QUITE connect to or be convinced by. Or something. So it's stopping me from falling in love with the programme. But still, like I say, very good, and very funny. :)

Does it feel too much like a studio?

Mm, I dunno. Not quite that. I'm not sure what it is. Does feel like a studio sitcom stylistically though (well, yeah, you know what I mean), so I don't think it would have really worked quite the same way had it been a closed set. So probably not that. I dunno. *strokes chin*

P.S. jacparov on 1010 posts! And zooo coming up to 8888! :D

Ah, my favorite episode. Though my fav line is, "What did you tell her? She thinks I'm the Renaissance."

It would be great if they did make another.

Watched that one last night. Great line indeed! :D

"NOT ANYTHING GOES I SAID NO RULES!!!" lol

I actually really liked the first episode, the exchange between Bernard and the man who wants to buy the works of Dickens is brilliant.

Man: Are they real leather?
Bernard: They're real Dickens...

Fantastic stuff!

I'm still new to this one but there are some great lines.

MANNY: Do you think I should wash my beard?
BERNARD: Yes I do think you should wash your beard, then shave it off, nail it to a frisbie and fling it over a rainbow.

Lol, I think I love Bernard Black!

Who doesn't!
He's awesome. :)
