Stephen Fry Page 12

Have any of you read the long blog he did describing what happened?

Clears it all up. No need for speculation.

I'm not sure how a lengthy blog that basically says poor me in 100 different ways squares with his contention that he doesn't want attention.

Well don't read it then. And stop going on about him.

I read the blog. Fry says he didn't read any of the articles. Frankly, this makes him among the least qualified people to comment on the information flow.

Yeah, let's get this thread back to its original topic. What was that again?

Who really gives a toss about the whole thing anyway?

Publicity hungry feminist op-ed writers, all of whom were on their periods at the time.

I don't. And now zooo has asked me to stop going on about it, after my one post on the subject I will bugger off.

That's not a mis-quote, it's an exposé. :D

:D

Apologies for my indiscretion.

I believe, in online circles, this is now called "doing a Fry".

Lol, sorry Badge. I meant people in general, I shouldn't have directed it at you personally.

I get a bit upset when people are nasty about old Fry-bollocks. :$

I've read all the links and blogs and I'm still not happy with the excuse.

My interpretation is that Fry feels sorry for straight men who can only have sex with women who want to be paid for it, or ensnare them in a relationship.

Pretty narow-minded for one of our cultural 'institutions'.

There is no speculation whatsoever. He falsely claimed to have been misquoted by the press. Rather childish behaviour.

Well, we can all have our opinions. :)
(Only I'm right though, natch.)

On reading his quotes I'd be more offended if I was a Noofter.

I'm with Ange on this.

Most of it I agree with, because there is a lot of evidence to suggest that women have amuch lower sex drive than men. The thing I do take issue with is that sex is a 'price we're willing to pay' in order to trap a man into a relationship. This is pretty insulting whichever way you look at it.

Usually I think Stephen Fry is great, but his views on women and female sexuality are unsurprisingly flawed.

Haha I did think that too, but is it one of those situations where you can say what you like about a minority aslong as you're in it?
