I read the news today oh boy! Page 2,696

You would have to acknowledge that the Met had a point to prove to Braverman so the Right wingers were always going to get confronted and made to look like the problem.

The turnaround is bizarre, the police used to be criticised for bashing lefties, now they've realised they can bash righties and get praised for it, such is the influence of left wing wokeism now - the new righteousness, bow, bow.

I'd hardly class the people 'bashed' on the Sarah Everard vigil as right wingers.

The notion that the police are 'woke' is ludicrous and not backed up by facts.

The spin that the right are trying to put on what was clearly a massive own goal yesterday is highly amusing.
Cheered me right up.

The right wing protesters have massively shot themselves in the foot here as Suella for stirring them up.
Absurd to attack the police as
"woke". The police come under the authority of the Conservative government and the Conservative Home Secretary.
Who has now alienated most of the electorate by insulting the police.
She's an idiot.

It's not new at all. Theresa May gave the police a hammering when she was HS yet she didn't get the grief this one's getting for just pointing out what everyone knows, that the Police now follow Woke Law. And they will always favour the party in charge and that's Labour at the mo.

HAHAHAHAAAAA 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The government pays the Police, so technically the Conservatives are their boss and customer. But given how their boss has been behaving, it doesn't surprise me both sides think there's bias. Or that they might be getting ready for the new boss.

So the police get stick when they are racist and homophobic- and rightly so

And they also get stick for being anti-racist and anti-homophobic too?

What do people want from them?

I believe Superintendent Andy Bennett's actual words were "No one got hurt and we had no arrests in the whole protest.

"That is 10,000 passionate people.

Bristol should be proud of itself."

That's not woke, that's effective, modern Policing.

Public relations fluff. Give me some proper studies and statistics that prove the police are woke, Billy.

Labour are not actually in power.

Dominic Grieve (former Tory attorney general) says "Suella Braverman is incapable of understanding her duty as home secretary in maintaining the right to demonstrate under the rule of law."

"Suella Braverman had no business trying to override the police in the public way that she did. That was a breach of a fundamental rule in our society that the police are independent in how they make their judgments"

"Suella Braverman tried to bully the police into a particular outcome and she had no business doing it.. Sack her, she's clearly unfit to do this particular job"

That's the job that she was sacked from for breaking the ministerial code- then reinstated about one week later

"To seek and preserve public favour, not by pandering to public opinion but by constantly demonstrating absolute impartial service to law, in complete independence of policy, and without regard to the justice or injustice of the substance of individual laws." - Robert Peel

No arrests for serious criminal damage? That's not policing; that's surrender to mob rule.
