Thanks to its crew of constantly striking employees - lead by unreasonable shop steward Vic Spanner - Wm. C. Boggs & Son (makers of fine toiletware since 1870) is going down the pan.
It looks very much like the annual works' outing to Brighton could be its last, and so the gang are determined to make it a day to remember: both Vic and the boss's son have their eye on Myrtle, daugher of works foreman Sid Plummer; company secretary Miss Withering is madly in love with owner W. C. Boggs; Sid has his eye on colleague Chloe; and everyone else is fed up with Vic and his uncompromising manner!
