Mr. Bean is a social misfit to redefine the term 'social misfit'. Almost a perpetual loner and loser, he is unaware that most of his daily activities constitute acts of petty crime, and certainly has no appreciation of the impact that his actions have on other people.

Whether he's visiting the swimming pool, doing his laundry or getting a hair cut, mishaps - to which Bean is often oblivious - are never far away.

Our Review: Mr. Bean has its detractors, but there's really no denying the popularity and success - both in the UK and abroad - of not only the original 14 celebrated live-action episodes, but two feature films and a 26-part cartoon adaptation.

At the British Comedy Guide, we're firmly on the side of Bean lovers: the pure elasticity of Atkinson's face, the way he holds and conducts himself to convey almost all meaning through the series whilst uttering barely a single word, and the utter physicality of Bean in every possible respect, really have to be commended.

A wonderful example of physical comedy.
