It must be the time of year!

My friend of forty odd years died suddenly last week (58)

He went to the toilet in the middle of the night and his wife found him there next morning.

Ironically, he would have laughed at such an ending - but it's hard to laugh in reality.

It has knocked me for six..... first friend to die.

As you push 60, the subject of 'popping off' crops up more often
And, we discussed it - usually about funny epitaphs... but the jokes are now lost on me.

It has affected me badly (something I didn't really expect)

So sorry to hear this. I lost 2 friends to cancer back in 98 and 99 and even yet when certain things happen, I find I'm thinking, "must tell so-and-so about that"

Today's funeral was the biggest I've ever been to - a very large church packed out with people of all ages. Somehow his parents both found the strength to talk to everyone about him, though it was obviously really stressful at times.

When signing off from clients I am slightly irritated, I've found almost by accident.

That I've switched "go f**k yourself" with "good luck."

But let me explain why in detail fist of all "fing awesome" is dollar shave clubs slogan, so you've just blatantly ripped them off. Secondly the price Gav quoted was for one animated character I guess you've trebled your cost for animation. Thirdly if I was dying of extra painful, syphilis and the only drug company that could save me's slogan was "pure awesomeness everywhere" I would accept my horrible death rather than use their product. Also by repeating the rating system of Uber etc you're just advertising you have nothing original to sell. This is not a good thing. Look I'd like to help, I'd like to be employed by you, but you're ruining all the charm in your product.
The thing is when people suggest looking at campaigns that worked; Innocent (is always the biggy), but Uber as well. Then these products have a really clear, irresistible pitch. Whereas you're making yours a pot pourri of partially regurgitated TEDx waffle (stop watching those films they're as healthy as sweets from a child molester) and ideas that made other people millions. What is the single unique message of ALBERT PILCHARD INDUSTRIES? Why are you investing hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars in it? Why if I sign up with it will it make my life better? And it is not fing awesome nor is it awesomeness everywhere.

I've lost 5 friends to cancer over the last few years, two of them recently.
A 23 year old member of the motocross community died in a racing accident a few weeks ago. His fellow racers escorted the hearse and his best friend wheeled his bike into the Church. Very moving. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGakByYZVhY

Sorry/happy to hear all this medical news Keewik and Herc but have you forgotten about the medical thread? https://www.comedy.co.uk/forums/thread/32236/2/

Yup, but Status/Medical - you just get carried away with it. ;)

Usual Saturday night plans got cancelled so I'm at home drinking cider, watching Bottom and cooking a Biryani.

Long as you don't cook your bottom. :)

That would be a bit painful. Don't fancy a trip to the hospital tonight either.

Planted me daffodils and tulips today while a squirrel and robin did a little dance on the fence.

Luvverly. :)

Mine are still in from last year, but many weeds & wild flowers have grown over them. Meant to dig up and remove the weed roots, but rather too late now this year as it would disturb the bulbs.

Probably will just have to use a strimmer to cut down the weeds & flowers to ground level.

Hi Bill - I have planted bulbs for about eight years in a row but I'm never sure the old ones come up. Think it's the heavy clay. Very much an amateur but I always go by the rule that if it's done before the first big frost it should be ok. It takes me a long time to get into the garden but I find it uplifting when I do, just with basic tasks. Overall, I seem to be most successful with new spring flowers. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

Have had three days off. Done hardly anything yet somehow just as tired as I was on Friday after working a whole week.

Laughing out loud
