Squeeze were pretty good when I saw them live a couple of years ago, but incredibly loud. I go to lots of gigs, and there's was probably the loudest of all, which was a bit of a surprise.

They're on ep.1 of Jools next week.

If you have Sky Arts, their ep. of Live From The Artists Den, shot in some small New York park in 2010, is really good.

Not sure if it really comes into either category but I just bought (from a charity shop - naturally - and also because there aren't any proper record shops in probably a 10 mile radius) Superfunk; the greatest funk album in the world ever!

I do like really dirty funk and it starts with Word Up by Cameo and includes One Nation Under a Groove, Move on up, Funky Nassau (credited back to front on here), Funkin' for Jamaica, Burn Rubber on me, Let's Groove, Movin', Backstabbers, That Lady, Lady Marmalade, Play that funky music, The revolution will not be televised - oh and many, many, more.

:D Love it--- heard Emerson Lake Palmer- Theme for Common Man! got be groovin movin under duvet!!

I watched Jools Holland's programme earlier.

I know the name the Macabees but I'd never actually heard them before. A good sound though.

Stereophonics were also on.

I like them. Have their second and third albums, and getting their new one in the next few days. Third album - Given to the Wild reminds me a lot of Doves.

Seeing them on tour as well.

Graffiti on the Train (2013) is a really good Rock album - recommend it.

Maybe the last 10 minutes. I think I started watching as Sumner was asked about his favourite NO album.

And what was the answer? Mine is Low Life.

He said: "The new one". *sigh*

I have a soft spot for their debut album. Very dark stuff. But none of their albums can impress me in its entirety so I'd go for a compilation: Substance or the terrific Singles.
