The general pop/rock - music thread Page 102

They're in an area near Gloucester Road. There's a yellow building with a big guitar on the wall. Then around the corner and a narrow street. Snoopers Paradise in Kensington Gardens. Then round the corner there's another one on a corner.

As mentioned elsewhere I went to Brighton today and found several second hand record shops including one second hand emporium selling anything you can think of; al individual stalls presumably like Gordon's Flea Markets.

Vinyl I bought includes the aforementioned Widowmaker plus the following.

5 live Kursaals - Kursaal Flyers - which I've got on now.
Concerto for Electric Violin - Darryl Way
Greatest stories live - Harry Chapin
All this and World War II - various 70s artist covering Beatles songs*
Star Collection - The Rascals
Live at the Revolution - the Wild Angels
and NOT pop/rock - Beyond the Fringe Pete and Dud plus Alan Bennett and Jonathan Miller.

Also got some "new" CDs.
F.F.S. (Franz Ferdinand and Sparks)
A Head Rings Out - Blodwyn Pig
Mountain - 5 Original Album Classics box set.

* This includes Keith Moon singing "When I'm 64" which unfortunately he never reached.

I absolutely love The Rascals, very underrated, even little known these days.

Please let me know what you think about F.F.S. when you have listened to it.

That will probably be about February next year so I'll let you know.

So Thom Yorke has split with his girlfriend of 23 years.

We could get some f**king AMAZING Radiohead tunes out of this.

Oh yeah - sad for them an' that.

Yes, I'm fed up with these cheerful good times party albums of theirs.

Tail end of the golden soul era.

18 year olds at Caister on the Anglian coast in Ford Escorts f**king to slightly dodgy American religionists who have gone all eighties production and half-baked politics yet pull it off big time:

Did she meet Gregg and/or Cher then?

Gregg Allman is probably my most favourite singer, what a voice! Also a great songwriter and "ivory tickler", a true rock giant.

Probably, but I've long since forgotten anything she told me.

I never had First Step and I (don't think) haven't got Long Player on CD.

Just to highlight the Uncut free track -
