For the elderly ladies at Paradise Lodge, "superior residence for retired gentlefolk", life is far from over. Flora Petty and her friends are determined to enjoy their days of companionship and drama.
Flora is the ultimate domineering battleaxe; a constant source of frustration for the home's proprietor, Miss Milton, and amusement for fellow residents Mildred, Dolly and Katy.
Her best friend, Cissie, is always on hand to make sure things go wrong however. Honest and good-natured but not especially bright and very easily manipulated, she is more often Flora's plaything than an autonomous human being!
