Episode menu

Series 3, Episode 7 - Aunt Maud

Else is laid up with bronchitis and her sister, Maud, has come to look after her. Alf and Maud hate each other and, after he insults her once too often, she refuses to cook him meals but gives Mike and Rita sumptuous dinners. Maud gets a chance for revenge when George Pringle pays a visit - she remembers a time when Else slept on the beach with him and Alf is determined to find out if anything else happened.

Notes

This episode was due to focus much more on the George Pringle character and past relationship plot, but Dandy Nichols was taken ill with bronchitis in real life, soliciting changes in the script.
