It's Trish's birthday and she receives a life-changing surprise, or so she thinks. Needing time to work out what it all means, she makes Karl acting manager - to his utter dismay.
Karl's convinced nobody will listen to him, and he's right. With Trish out of action, Paul takes the opportunity to further his carpet fitting business and Danielle takes the opportunity to stop working.
Karl's out of his depth and things get a whole lot worse when a jobseeker decides to stage a protest.
