The BBC has announced a new comedy archive programme coming soon to BBC One: My Favourite Joke.

The series will feature top names from the world of comedy describing and discussing their favourite ever joke and how it has influenced them; be it from a stand-up routine, a sitcom, or a sketch show.

The BBC has secured a raft of top performers to share the stories behind their best jokes. Contributors to the series are set include Jack Dee (pictured), Jo Brand, Sean Lock, Joan Rivers, Alan Carr, Dara O'Briain, Lenny Henry, Rich Hall, Jack Whitehall, Jason Manford, Kevin Bridges, Micky Flanagan and Jimmy Tarbuck.

My Favourite Joke will be produced by Open Mike Productions, the production company behind Live At The Apollo and Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow - both of which have delivered big audiences to BBC One.

This new programme follows the past success and popularity of 'comedy archive' and documentary shows such as Comedy Connections on the BBC, and Channel 4's Heroes Of Comedy.
