With Miles gone off after Annabel, Jamie is now working at Semple, Callender & Henty in his place. Zoë and Alec meanwhile are preparing for Alec's first meeting with Zoë's parents without an Asses head on.

Her parents, particularly her mum are slightly frosty towards Alec at first but they are soon won over when they discover that they have a lot in common with Alec as they are about the same age so they remember growing up in the 50's going to the west end to see shows and songs like Rock Around the Clock. Zoë is soon regretting asking them round as it makes her realise for the first time how big the age gap is between her and Alec.

The next night Alec invites Zoë round to his place where he has recreated the fifties. They spend the evening dancing to old records. Alec tells her that, like it or not, the age gap is there and there is not much they can do about it and its just one of the things they're going to have put up with in their relationship if it's going to work.
