Alec and Zoë have split up. It's obvious though that they are missing each other but are too stubborn to call each other and make up. With Valentines Day approaching Hilary decides to play cupid and arranges for Zoë and Alec to meet. Things don't work out as Alec and Zoë continue to blame each other for their split and Alec, furious with Hilary for interfering, fires her. After a while and with a little help from those around them Alec and Zoë reconcile and Alec gives Hilary her job back... eventually.
