High & Dry trivia

After the Radio 4 adptation of Dad's Army came to an end, a post-war sequel was produced for Radio 2, entitled It Sticks Out Half A Mile (running for 14 episodes). A pilot was made in 1985 for BBC1, which broadcast under the name Walking The Planks, but it was not a success and the BBC showed no further interest. A full series - now High & Dry - was only to come in 1987, this time from ITV's Yorkshire Television.

Harold Snoad co-wrote the series under the name Alan Sherwood.
