12 year-old orphan Jack Dawkins escapes the clutches of evil mill owner, Mr Canker. With the help of new friend, farm girl Charley, they make their way to London where they soon run into trouble and are chased by hopeless policemen, Duff and Blathers.
As Jack and Charley run through the streets their way is blocked by a mysterious and terrifying figure, which then leads to their first encounter with Fagin's infamous gang.
