Series 4 - The Cornish Floral Dance

The platoon, air raid wardens and a number of local ladies congregate in the church hall to rehearse for a performance of 1911 song The Cornish Floral Dance. They do not get off to a smooth start...

Recorded on Friday 4th December 1970.

This short insert was broadcast as part of Christmas Night With The Stars. It is believed to have been the first item in the 90 minute programme.

Part of this short episode's script was recyled for a scene the radio adaptation of Series 7 Episode 4, The Godiva Affair.

The script was also used in part of the Dad's Army stage play, a segment of which was included in 1975 's Royal Variety Performance, recorded at the London Palladium and broadcast on ITV.

Only a home-make audio recording of this special is known to survive.

This episode no longer exists in the archives. It is missing, believed wiped.
