Would I Lie To You? Page 29

Bingo teacher?! How can you teach bingo? It's a game of pure luck!

I think I found myself laughing a little less this series than in the past - but overall it was vastly improved by Brydon learning how to host and allow others to flourish, rather than seek attention.

I hate to agree with the Mr Brown but Brydon knows he's talented and I suspect he fancied that this was his show and tried too hard to put his own twist on it. I like Brydon and he is a superb mimic but I've noticed he hasn't done one impression (or at least fewer) in this run. His chat show was perhaps the outlet for his talent which I also like. We're not an item or anyfing...ahem.

There we go. https://www.comedy.co.uk/tv/would_i_lie_to_you/episodes/5/9/

The show's Twitter account tweeted right after the last episode went out that a new series was "coming soon" - has there been a more official word on series 6?

http://www.robbrydon.com/musings/ says they're doing series 6 but it hasn't been officially announced yet (I think DM tweeted he thought they were doing it in March a week ago).

I've got some tickets for the new series. (You guys do know they're available now, don't you?)

Yes. I applied but fear I am to be disappointed again.

Have you not heard yet? I hope you're lucky this time!

Ooh, look what I've just found:

So. Series 6 is airing in the Spring in an 8:30pm slot.

This is not reassuring news at all. I don't often go for conspiracy theories, but that sounds to me like the BBC don't have faith in the show.

I don't see why that would be the case. According to wikipedia...

"The first show of series 4 had 3.12 million viewers and a 19.7% audience share, the best performance for a series opener since series 1.[19] The series 5 premiere had the show's highest ratings to date, with 4 million viewers and a 17.2% audience share.[20]"

So the ratings have only been increasing.

That board game looks interesting. I've always thought a "Would I Lie To You?" type game would be fun at a party. The only problem is that, if you are among friends who know you well, they will be able to spot the lies and truths for the most part, as I'm sure we've told our friends most of the funniest, interesting stories we have. I'm not sure how the official board game works though... I'd like to try it.

Yes, but if the show's ratings are increasing, why not try scheduling it consistently two series running? This is the show's sixth timeslot in as many series, and it never bodes well when a show gets knocked about like that, particularly when this new timeslot is so rubbish.

I don't know what the Beeb's problem is with this show. It's popular enough, isn't it?

Is 8.30 really that bad?
It's not 7.30.

Is this back?
