Funny thing, being immortal. You'd imagine it means just that, but it turns out that if someone simply puts your blood into a big hole for long enough, you find that you can in fact die; so you couldn't have really been properly immortal to start with. I wonder what else could cause jack to die? Sweating in a cave? Putting his finger up his arse? Maybe that's why he never bum-raped The Doctor.

There is actually a difference between immortal and indestructible.

Jack dies plenty of times - he just comes back to life soon after.

But he dosent age, suggesting immortality (this theory is removed if you acccept he is the face of boe though)
