The Weather Page 35

LOL.

I always thought that NY had roughly the same weather as the UK.

I'm right between 2 great lakes, which are major snow producers. We get lots of cold arctic winds from Canada and then in the summer we have major humidity. It's more like what you guys get down towards NYC, where the ocean has more of an effect.

I say it all the time, but I'm so beyond jealous of anyone who gets guaranteed yearly snow. I'd put up with almost anything for that.
(Well, I say that without really knowing what I'd have to put up with.)

We've been known to get about 12 inches in 6 hours and I don't even live in the worst snow area. You don't need to shovel rain, which is nice.

Laughing out loud

It's raining like a sumbitch at the moment; my gutters look like fire hoses. A few more minutes of this and the high water rescue teams will be pulling stupid motorists to safety.

I love watching the stupid motorists with their cars in 4 foot standing water. They always look so astonished that they got stuck. :D

Our low-lying roads have WATCH FOR HIGH WATER signs that include giant measuring sticks so you know just how deep the flooding is.

Any time we get flooding, it's usually just creeks overflowing or back yard and basements flooding. We don't get the crazy standing water problems that you do.

I LOVE SNOW

Oh, it's not standing. It's moving FAST. Gravity and all that ...

Windy here. Just slammed my window shut.

Storms brewing.

And it's a slidey one, must be bad!

I saw those pictures on the news. That's unbelievable. My sister called to bitch about how cool it is down there. I told her to f**k off, there's others that have it much worse. :D

There are always people who have it worse. Doesn't mean that we can't complain about our problems.

We're caught in the gulf stream, so it is often warmer here; the lack of snow is proof of that. I'd like a Victorian mini-ice age to return please.
