I think they probably mean 'best new main character'. As far as I'm aware Edge hasn't really taken on a main role in a sitcom before...but I may be wrong.

And surely Ben and Karen from Outnumbered should be in the Best Newcomer categories?

I know what you mean, but he had lead roles in Star Stories and I'm With Stupid in 2006 and was most defintely one of the leads in The Visit last year.

I kind of agree with that. I think Gervais will win that one, hope he turns up.

To my recollection, although I enjoy watching the show on the night, they almost allllways give the awards to the people I don't want to win.

I always get annoyed.

So I expect Horne will win.
(I did like him in Teachers though.)
