I read the news today oh boy! Page 1,560

The Daily Mail is a prejudiced piece of shit and pure evil.

Unfortunately it's they only paper aside from the Times that even slightly gets how to run a good internet edition.

And the Times has a paywall.

Implying someone is a sympathiser for peadophiles just to score a few points isn't really on though

But scoring points by implying an entire political party is made up of insane, racist, homophobes is okay in your book of blind partisanship though?

The difference being is that the sheep won't actually think Harriet Harman supports paedos, unlike the UKIP lies, which the lefties were more than happy to pass on. Socialists teaming up with the Daily Mail, who'd a thunk it?

I thought every good lefty was going to boycott it after the Ralph Miliband accusations. I wonder how that worked out?

I think they generally state a small minority of ukip members are like that - which they clearly are, as they've been sacked from ukip for voicing such stupid views

Well they found that nutter who donates 5 grand, chicken feed and thinks women should be banned from wearing trousers.
It was in the papers and the news. How many stalinists still fund Labour, or Costa Blanca crooks fund Conservatives.

A missile is a flying bomb. A drone is a remote control plane or helicopter. What you do with it is open to preference, but they are not in and of themselves inherently dangerous.

I doubt if people are worried much about surveillance drones, its the ones with explosives that worry people. The are actually calling them DRONE MISSILES and its these that are the subjects of the news stories. Oh and JET powered ones are becoming available, hardly the same as your Spitfire toys.

Cocaine use in the UK is now so common that traces of the drug have contaminated the drinking water supply, a report has shown.
In a study to assess the dangers from pharmaceutical compounds appearing in the water we drink, scientists discovered traces of cocaine after it had gone through intensive purification treatments.
Experts from the Drinking Water Inspectorate found supplies contained benzoylecgonine, the metabolised form of the drug that appears once it has passed through the body. It is the same compound that is looked for in urine-based drug tests for cocaine.

No, they are not called DRONE MISSILES, I'm not sure where you got this nomenclature, certainly not from any official military or corporate literature. Drones equipped with missiles are capable of firing them, but the drones themselves are just big remote control planes and helicopters.

Yes, you can get jet turbine powered remote control planes, so very much like a toy Spitfire - wings, engine, remote control, hobby shop.

As for 'the subjects of news stories' - the British press is probably the worst in terms of research and the best in terms of panicky techno fear.

Speaking of which, I'm concerned that you as a scientist type dude would join in with this Luddite behaviour. These aren't V2s.

Every party has a minority of nutters - whether it's the ex-BNP Labour member, the Lib Dem councillor arrested for racially aggravated assault or all the ex-Tories who jumped ship to UKIP and came out with all the weird crap.

The Lib Dems have been mired in several stories surrounding groping, rape and child molesting, does that mean that all Lib Dem members and voters are sex pests?

I don't care that UKIP are full of whack jobs. I care that they don't have any actual policies, apart from that whole EU shebang.

I have searched and searched for a hint of a policy on criminal justice. Cos, you know, if they ever get into power, they might need to think about this kind of crap.

Obviously if they are actually just a one issue pressure group --which is all they really are-- then they can continue to let the criminal stuff hang. Which I am sure they'd love.

I accept this is on a manifesto, but the absolute best I could find was:

"Britain's communities suffer from an unacceptable level of crime and anti-social behaviour. We should overhaul the system to make sentences meaningful, rehabilitate offenders, deport foreign criminals, free up the police from excessive form-filling and tackle nuisance neighbours and anti-social behaviour."

What does that mean? That's almost as bad as the BNP website - in fact it is worse, because at least the BNP have some actual policies, like killing all foreign peadophiles.

Make sentences meaningful? What, get the judge to deliver a poem? Maybe a Bible reading? WTF?

They aren't a political party. I don't think Farage ever thought they would become one. He's just having a bit of fun.

It does seem to be a regular thing for Ukip at the moment though. In fact, it's the only time you see any of them other than Farage. The relentless media focus on UKIP is out of all proportion to their actual impact.

Course not

What the hell as that got to do with a national newspaper trying to blacken the name of a politician with ludicrous insinuations that she promotes/tolerates/sympathises with paedophiles?
